I ended up buying another miniPC.

Yes, this is way smaller than I thought it would be!1

I just clicked some buttons and bought another minipc, a GMKtec Nucbox G10, $400CAD delivered www.amazon.ca/dp/B0G8W13SDM I've had a refurb Lenovo m900 bmannconsulting.com/notes/lenovo... that has been running a free Cloudron, mostly just running Ampache This one will have Coolify on it

The Lenovo m900 that I mention here has been running at home, not really doing much in part because without wifi it was a pita to work on at home and in part because I didn’t really want to spend $180USD / annually on another Cloudron license2

My ASUS MiniPC I iterated through a bunch of different experimental installs, now it runs NixOS as the second machine in the Commons Computer family, powering an atproto PDS & a tangled knot & spindle.

And today, the GMKtec Nucbox G10:

GMKtec G10 Mini PC AMD Ryzen 5 3500U
The GMKtec NucBox G10 Mini PC is powered by the AMD Ryzen™ 5 3500U quad-core processor with Radeon™ Vega 8 Graphics, delivering smooth multitasking, 4K/8K display support, and reliable performance for home office and entertainment. What I'll use it for

I’ve been paying for a hosted Coolify dashboard instance and while Cloudron is awesome for running an integrated server with accounts, I do want something that I can just deploy Dockerized things to.

I’m not sure if I’ll just keep it at home replacing the m900, or if it will live on my desk at Z-Space. And of course, choice of Linux distro to put on it. Or set up in some way that I can virtualize a number of operating systems on it to experiment with?3

I think it will be my upgraded home server, although long term I’d like to have the forthcoming Steam Machine as my home everything box.

I’ve looked at Garage, an S3 compatible file serving app, as one of the things to run. Got any other suggestions of self hostable software to try?

1.
And also came very quickly! I posted about this 14 hours ago, and it ended up getting dropped off at 7:30am this morning so I went in to the office to grab it.
2.
I run Cloudron for Commons Computer for 20+ people, and also introduced it at CoSocial, where it runs all the operations for the co-op, plus some things like Castopod and soon Pixelfed.
3.
This is where I get confused. Is Proxmox what I can do to have multiple operating systems virtualized?
